Leslie 5.0 – the remix
2019 brought about a mindset change for me- a shift so to speak, mentally, spiritually and physically. I have always strived to be the best version of me but until you are fully ready to embrace the changes you need to make, you can and will have roadblocks on your journey. Many of those roadblocks are mental. Believe me – I know it is not easy. We all want to eat better, to exercise, to find our why but I truly believe it is a process. You get one thing working and something else falls apart. You start exercising regularly and work gets crazy – there are always hurdles. I realized I had to find what would work for me – something that would give me the flexibility and ease that I needed. It couldn’t necessarily be what worked for so and so. I needed what worked for me.
I have always been spiritually grounded but I had to allow my spirituality to lead and guide me and to not second guess myself. Not be a slave to what others thought or how they thought things should be done. I had to live my faith out loud and believe me there were many things sent my way to test this! But accepting yourself and your truth is freeing and allows you to move in a different kind of space. That was step one.
With this kind of peace comes mental clarity –what do I want and what do I need to do to get there. Your motivation changes. You become passionate and focused on what makes you happy and what makes you feel good. Meal prepping and finding easy and healthy food choices became fun, no longer a chore or work. Adjusting my choice of exercise from one that was punishing to one that was nurturing and challenged me but also felt good came next. Everything began to flow. And when that happens so do the results. My sleep pattern began to improve, I was dropping pounds and inches and my energy (which has never been an issue) was even higher.
I was waking up each day ready to take on the world and excited to do so. Open to the challenges I know life would present but mentally prepared for it. Enjoying and embracing the healthy choices I was making in my diet and exercise and fully embracing ALL of me!
Yes, it is a lifestyle change and one that you too can make when you are ready. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself some grace. It is a process and one I am more than happy to support you on. Let me know how I can help!
